Official Launch of Friends of Canadian Golf Association

We are pleased to announce the launch of the Friends of Canadian Golf Association, supporting golf and golfers across Canada!

Friends of Canadian Golf acts as a launching pad for communication between golf associations, golfers, and golf courses in Canada on issues of national concern. Overall we want to toot the horn about how great golf really is!

You might ask what kind of concerns could be of national interest. Golfers have rallied to ensure seat belts and rollover protection is NOT made mandatory for golf courses across Canada, and for now our collective voice has been heard.

Currently golf courses across Canada are being impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, many of which are closed, or open only to members. Those that are open follow strict protocols and safety measures to prevent the potential spread of the virus. Read more about one golf course in British Columbia that has been successful in quickly redirecting its management strategies to keep its staff employed, hire local contractors, and implement safety protocols to re-open for members in early April. Other golf courses across Canada can adopt this shared list of suggestions for safety measures and expectations for guests.

Stay informed of current petitions such as the current OPEN LETTER to call on the Chief Medical Officer for each province or territory to consider golf as SAFE for SOCIAL DISTANCING, so ALL golf courses can open to the public. Add your name to this cause and show your support to fellow golfers.

Welcome to Friends of Canadian Golf!
